Last December 11, the National Development Company (NDC) and French firm HDF Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of French Ambassador Marie Fontanel and officials from the Department of Energy.

HDF Energy is a leading global player in the hydrogen industry, specializing in the development of cutting-edge hydrogen solutions. Its expertise lies in large-scale hydrogen infrastructure and advanced multi-megawatt fuel cell technologies.

The MOU paves the way for potential collaboration and marks the beginning of exploratory work on hydrogenโ€‘based power solutions in the Philippines. Regions facing the most significant development challenges, such as SPUG areas and Mindanao, will be the initial focus, with the goal of providing access to clean and reliable energy.

The partnership underscores NDCโ€™s commitment to advancing sustainable and innovative energy solutions, supporting the countryโ€™s progress toward an energy-secure future.
