August 1, 2023 Monday (Malacañang Palace, Philippines) - Kacific Broadband Satellite Group meets with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

Kacific Broadband Satellite Group meets with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to explain its plans of helping the Philippine government ensure its connectivity security and sustainabilty through broadband satellite services.

Kacific has 2 existing earth stations and installed 2,000 VSATs across the Philippines, connected to its Kacific 1 satellite in orbit. It has an existing contract with DICT to provide free wifi services to LGUs, and have ongoing arrangements with the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The Philippines' investment arm, the National Development Company (NDC), is aiming to invest in Kacific, specifically to acquire frequency blocks from the planned Kacific 2 satellite, due for launch in 2027. This would ensure the country's long-term connectivity requirements and better expand telecom and internet connections, especially to unserved and underserved areas in the Philippines.
